The 9th Youth Bioinformatics PI seminar was successfully held

On October 25, 2021, the 9th Young Bioinformatics PI (YBP) seminar, hosted by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was successfully held at Chengdu. The seminar aims to promote in-depth academic exchanges among young PI, share their growth experiences, and explore the future development direction and challenges of bioinformatics. More than 100 experts, scholars, graduate and undergraduate students in the field of bioinformatics and computational biology attended the forum.

There were fourteen outstanding young bioinformatics PI who delivered impressive reports referring to the construction of single-cell data algorithms, analytic regulatory relationship in non-coding regional, biomarker mining and population genetics. Unlike other bioinformatics conferences in China, the keynote of the YBP seminar requires each speaker to report only one or two complete works, which allows speakers and other PI to communicate more deeply about the innovations and challenges encountered in their research.

The YBP provides an important platform for the academic exchange of young bioinformatics scholars, and also provides a valuable learning opportunity for the majority of students who are willing to devote themselves to the field of bioinformatics in the era of big data and artificial intelligence.

The YBP was strongly supported by Biomarker Technologies Co, LTD, QIAGEN, Nanjing Vazyme Biotech Co., Ltd, Beijing Novogene, Sichuan Xinbiao Biotechnology Co., Ltd, Sichuan AiQi Biotechnology Co., Ltd, Chengdu SeWeiSi Biotechnology Co., Ltd, and hosted by the Laboratory of Omics Technology and Bioinformatics of West China Hospital of Sichuan University.
